One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Peneda Gerês National Park is located in the village of Ermida, parish of Vilar de Veiga and is provided by the Arado River. Cascata do Arado is one of the most visited in the summer season. Not only for being at an altitude of 900m, but also for the succession of cascades of crystalline waters that face the hard rock in perfect harmony creating a clear lake. How to get to Cascata do Arado:
Starting from the Hotel Agrinho Suites & Spa Gerês, head towards Terma do Gerês. When you find the sign with the indication Ermida, just before Vila do Gerês, go in that direction. Enjoy the beautiful landscape that accompanies you. Upon reaching Ermida you will find a dirt road; always follow this road until you find the indication of Pedra Bela on the left and Cascata do Arado on the right. Travel in that direction with the river on your right and stop only when you find the bridge that connects to the two banks of the river. Pass the Arado bridge and park the car. You will find stairs that give access to the viewpoint of Cascata do Arado.
